Configured for compact liquid cooling, this configuration carries the fixed-tubesheet bundle construction that defines the CHX compact range. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Dimensionally it is a 5-inch shell unit, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 28-5/16 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 16 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as CHX524-2L. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in engine jacket water cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and mechanical seal cooling.
