Configured for compact liquid cooling, this configuration carries the fixed-tubesheet bundle construction that defines the CHX compact range. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. The configuration measures 4 inches across the shell, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 27-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 14.1 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in mechanical seal cooling, hydraulic and lube oil cooling, and injection molding machine cooling. This build is designated CHX424-2L.
