CHX308-2S

Built around a fixed-tubesheet bundle, CHX308-2S delivers compact liquid cooling for demanding service. Small-diameter tubes pack maximum surface into a short shell, keeping the mounting footprint tight. Physically, the unit runs a 3-inch shell, 8-inch shell length, and roughly 11-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 2.4 square feet of heat transfer surface on 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, brass shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in engine jacket water cooling, mechanical seal cooling, and injection molding machine cooling.
