A removable straight-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of GC gas cooler equipment in water-cooled gas cooling. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. The configuration measures 8 inches across the shell, 99-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper or steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 1000°F maximum temperature. Installations range across industrial gas conditioning, compressor discharge gas cooling, and process gas cooling. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams. The resulting model number is GC88-102.
