GC87-80

For water-cooled gas cooling, the GC gas cooler line offers a removable straight-tube bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 87-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as GC87-80. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper or steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 1000°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes process gas cooling, compressor discharge gas cooling, and industrial gas conditioning. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams.
