GC84-90

A removable straight-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of GC gas cooler equipment in water-cooled gas cooling. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 51-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as GC84-90. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper or steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 1000°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes compressor discharge gas cooling, industrial gas conditioning, and process gas cooling. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams.
