For water-cooled gas cooling, the GC gas cooler line offers a removable straight-tube bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. The configuration measures 6 inches across the shell, 99-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper or steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 1000°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes industrial gas conditioning, process gas cooling, and blower and vapor cooling duty. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams. The resulting model number is GC68-40.
