The GC gas cooler platform pairs a removable straight-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to water-cooled gas cooling. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. Physically, the unit runs a 10-inch shell, 111-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as GC109-160. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper or steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 1000°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in process gas cooling, industrial gas conditioning, and blower and vapor cooling duty. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams.
