Configured for water-cooled gas cooling, this configuration carries the removable straight-tube bundle construction that defines the GC gas cooler range. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. Its envelope centers on a 10-inch diameter shell, 87-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper or steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 1000°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes process gas cooling, industrial gas conditioning, and blower and vapor cooling duty. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams. The resulting model number is GC107-160.
