The GC gas cooler platform pairs a removable straight-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to water-cooled gas cooling. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. Physically, the unit runs a 10-inch shell, 63-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper or steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 1000°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in blower and vapor cooling duty, process gas cooling, and industrial gas conditioning. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams. The resulting model number is GC105-120.
