Built around a removable straight-tube bundle, this configuration delivers water-cooled gas cooling for demanding service. Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. The configuration measures 10 inches across the shell, 75-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 1000°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in blower and vapor cooling duty, process gas cooling, and compressor discharge gas cooling. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams. The resulting model number is 5-153-10-075-004.
