Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 123-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 1000°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in compressor discharge gas cooling, blower and vapor cooling duty, and process gas cooling. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams. The resulting model number is 5-153-08-123-006.
