Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. Its envelope centers on a 6-inch diameter shell, 39-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 1000°F maximum temperature. Installations range across blower and vapor cooling duty, process gas cooling, and compressor discharge gas cooling. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams.
