Hot gas passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the unit shares the removable-bundle construction of the OC series. The configuration measures 4 inches across the shell, 39-inch shell length. It carries 5/8-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, steel tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 1000°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes industrial gas conditioning, compressor discharge gas cooling, and process gas cooling. Small-diameter tubing maximizes surface in a given shell, and alternate tube alloys are available for corrosive gas streams. The resulting model number is 5-153-04-039-002.
