The ACFR aftercooler platform pairs a fixed-tubesheet bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to compressed air aftercooling. Compressed air passes through the tubes against cooling water in the baffled shell, and the tube interiors clean easily from either end. Shell dimensions vary by size within this configuration in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated ACF-35. Installations range across compressor discharge aftercooling, moisture and oil removal from plant air, and instrument and shop air conditioning. Steel tubesheets and baffles with 1/4-inch copper tubes keep the assembly compact, and the fixed-tubesheet design holds overall length within 50 inches.
