The ACA aftercooler platform pairs a removable straight-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to compressed air aftercooling. Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. Physically, the unit runs a 4-inch shell, 72-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as ACA46-12. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 300°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in pneumatic tool and instrument air conditioning, compressed air dryer pre-cooling, and moisture and oil removal from plant air.
