Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. Its envelope centers on a 10-inch diameter shell, 108-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes compressed air dryer pre-cooling, pneumatic tool and instrument air conditioning, and compressor discharge aftercooling. A floating rear tubesheet lets the bundle expand freely and pull for cleaning, and full-size air connections hold pressure drop down.
