Built around a removable straight-tube bundle, this configuration delivers compressed air aftercooling for demanding service. Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. The configuration measures 10 inches across the shell, 108-inch shell length in a 1-pass arrangement. It carries 1/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 300°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes moisture and oil removal from plant air, pneumatic tool and instrument air conditioning, and compressor discharge aftercooling.
