Hot compressed air enters the tubes while cooling water counterflows through the shell, condensing moisture for removal downstream. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 300°F maximum temperature. A floating rear tubesheet lets the bundle expand freely and pull for cleaning, and full-size air connections hold pressure drop down.
