Built around a two-pass U-bend bundle, this configuration delivers in-tank heating with boiler water in the tubes for demanding service. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Dimensionally it is a 8-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 46-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 32 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes domestic water storage heating, process tank heating, and hot water storage tanks. This build is designated TCW-848.
