this configuration is a TCS/TCW tank heater unit built on a two-pass U-bend bundle for in-tank heating with boiler water in the tubes. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 34-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 23 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as TCW-836. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
