Built around a two-pass U-bend bundle, this configuration delivers in-tank heating with boiler water in the tubes for demanding service. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Physically, the unit runs a 4-inch shell, 18-inch shell length, and roughly 17-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 3.3 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as TCW-418. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
