Configured for in-tank heating with boiler water in the tubes, this configuration carries the two-pass U-bend bundle construction that defines the TCS/TCW tank heater range. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Dimensionally it is a 14-inch shell unit, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 97-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 234 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated TCW-1496.
