A two-pass U-bend bundle gives 5-276-10-048-002 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of TCS/TCW tank heater equipment in in-tank heating with boiler water in the tubes. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Dimensionally it is a 10-inch shell unit, 48-inch shell length, and roughly 47-3/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 56 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Installations range across process tank heating, hydronic-fed storage systems, and hot water storage tanks.
