5-271-12-036-002 is a TCS/TCW tank heater unit built on a two-pass U-bend bundle for in-tank heating with steam in the tubes. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Physically, the unit runs a 12-inch shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 36-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 61 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes hot water storage tanks, boiler feed and condensate tanks, and wash-down and sanitation water storage.
