Configured for in-tank heating with steam in the tubes, this configuration carries the two-pass U-bend bundle construction that defines the TCS/TCW tank heater range. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, and roughly 22-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 15 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
