A two-pass U-bend bundle gives 5-271-08-018-002 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of TCS/TCW tank heater equipment in in-tank heating with steam in the tubes. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, and roughly 16-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 11 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are wash-down and sanitation water storage, process tank heating, and hot water storage tanks.
