A two-pass U-bend bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of TCS/TCW tank heater equipment in in-tank heating with steam in the tubes. The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Physically, the unit runs a 6-inch shell, and roughly 27-1/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 10.3 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are process tank heating, hot water storage tanks, and boiler feed and condensate tanks. This build is designated 5-271-06-030-001.
