The bundle mounts through a collar in the tank wall and heats the surrounding fluid by natural convection. Its envelope centers on a 4-inch diameter shell, and roughly 35-1/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 6.8 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
