The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 41-3/8 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 19 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes radiant panel and snow-melt converters, instantaneous domestic water heating, and building comfort heating. This build is designated SU83-6.
