Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n SU82-6 as shown on this page.
Configured for steam-to-liquid heating, SU82-6 carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Its envelope centers on a 8-inch diameter shell, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 29-3/8 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 12 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes instantaneous domestic water heating, swimming pool heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters.
