Note: Unit pictured is representative of standard unit and may not exactly depict p/n SU47-2 as shown on this page.
A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. The configuration measures 4 inches across the shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 89 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 16.3 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes instantaneous domestic water heating, building comfort heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters. This build is designated SU47-2.
