this configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Its envelope centers on a 4-inch diameter shell, 60-inch shell length, and roughly 65 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 11.5 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes swimming pool heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters. This build is designated SU45-2.
