The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 24-inch shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 118 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 681 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU247-2. As furnished, materials include steel bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are building comfort heating, swimming pool heating, and instantaneous domestic water heating.
