Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers steam-to-liquid heating for demanding service. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Its envelope centers on a 22-inch diameter shell, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 105-5/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 489 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as SU226-2. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Typical duty includes instantaneous domestic water heating, radiant panel and snow-melt converters, and swimming pool heating.
