SU188-4

this configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 18-inch shell, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 108-1/2 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 387 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated SU188-4. Installations range across radiant panel and snow-melt converters, swimming pool heating, and building comfort heating.
