SU147-2

A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 14-inch shell, 84-inch shell length, and roughly 92-3/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 204 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in swimming pool heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters. This build is designated SU147-2.
