Configured for steam-to-liquid heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Its envelope centers on a 14-inch diameter shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 44-3/4 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 88 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Installations range across instantaneous domestic water heating, building comfort heating, and swimming pool heating. This build is designated SU143-2.
