For steam-to-liquid heating, the SU/WU line offers a removable U-tube bundle design; this configuration sits within that range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Dimensionally it is a 12-inch shell unit, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 113-1/2 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 191 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated SU129-2. The series sees regular use in building comfort heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters.
