A removable U-tube bundle gives 5-261-18-108-005 the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 18-inch shell, 108-inch shell length, and roughly 120-1/2 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 435 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and N/A maximum temperature. Typical duty includes swimming pool heating, building comfort heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters.
