Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Dimensionally it is a 18-inch shell unit, 72-inch shell length, and roughly 84-1/2 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 290 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and N/A maximum temperature. Typical duty includes instantaneous domestic water heating, building comfort heating, and radiant panel and snow-melt converters.
