A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. The configuration measures 18 inches across the shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 48-1/2 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 148 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. The build specifies cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated 5-261-18-036-002. The series sees regular use in swimming pool heating, radiant panel and snow-melt converters, and instantaneous domestic water heating.
