Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 8-inch shell, 36-inch shell length, and roughly 41-3/8 inches overall in a 2-pass arrangement. That works out to about 23 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as 5-261-08-036-001. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. The series sees regular use in swimming pool heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and building comfort heating.
