Built around a removable U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers steam-to-liquid heating for demanding service. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Dimensionally it is a 6-inch shell unit, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 28 1/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 8 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. That combination is cataloged as 5-261-06-024-005. Standard construction uses cast brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and brass tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. Common applications are swimming pool heating, radiant panel and snow-melt converters, and instantaneous domestic water heating.
