Configured for steam-to-liquid heating, this configuration carries the removable U-tube bundle construction that defines the SU/WU range. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 12-inch shell, 120-inch shell length, and roughly 125-1/2 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 200 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Operating limits are 150 PSI on the shell side, 125 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. Common applications are swimming pool heating, instantaneous domestic water heating, and building comfort heating. This build is designated 5-260-12-120-002.
