The SU/WU platform pairs a removable U-tube bundle with proven shell-side baffling, and this configuration applies that design to steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Physically, the unit runs a 6-inch shell, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 28 1/8 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 8 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. The unit is rated for 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated 5-260-06-024-002. Typical duty includes radiant panel and snow-melt converters, building comfort heating, and instantaneous domestic water heating.
