A removable U-tube bundle gives this configuration the thermal and mechanical margin expected of SU/WU equipment in steam-to-liquid heating. Steam condenses in the single-pass shell while the heated fluid travels the tubes. Its envelope centers on a 4-inch diameter shell, 24-inch shell length, and roughly 29 inches overall in a 4-pass arrangement. That works out to about 4.5 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Standard construction uses cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature. This build is designated 5-260-04-024-012. Installations range across instantaneous domestic water heating, radiant panel and snow-melt converters, and building comfort heating.
