An atmospheric air gap between the inner and outer tube vents any breach to the outside, giving a visible telltale leak instead of silent mixing. The configuration measures 12 inches across the shell, 84-inch shell length in a 6-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper (double wall) tubes, and naval brass tubesheets.
