Built around a double-wall U-tube bundle, this configuration delivers steam-to-liquid heating with cross-contamination protection for demanding service. An atmospheric air gap between the inner and outer tube vents any breach to the outside, giving a visible telltale leak instead of silent mixing. The configuration measures 6 inches across the shell, 72-inch shell length in a 6-pass arrangement. It carries 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. As furnished, materials include cast iron bonnets, steel shell, copper (double wall) tubes, and naval brass tubesheets. Design ratings run to 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 375°F maximum temperature.
