This configuration is a SU/WU unit built on a removable U-tube bundle for liquid-to-liquid heating and cooling. Pumped boiler water circulates through the baffled shell against the tube-side fluid. The configuration measures 6 inches across the shell, 96-inch shell length, and roughly 100-1/8 inches overall in a 6-pass arrangement. That works out to about 27.3 square feet of heat transfer surface on 3/4-inch O.D. tubes. Material selection covers cast iron or brass bonnets, steel shell, copper tubes, and steel or brass tubesheets. On the ratings side, expect 150 PSI on the shell side, 150 PSI on the tube side, and 300°F maximum temperature. This build is designated WU68-63. Installations range across pool and storage-tower heating, oil cooling and snow melting, and condensate cooling.
